Tomorrow (Nov. 21) we will leave Danvers at 5:30AM to arrive at the O'hare airport in Chicago. Our flight is scheduled to leave at 10:55AM, and we will be flying Japan Airlines. I spoke with some very nice Japanese ladies about a month ago and they have child seats reserved as well as toddler meals for Helayna and extra diapers on hand for Silas. They seem very friendly so I am hoping it will be a comfortable flight. We will be in the air for 13 hours, and arrive in Tokyo at Narita International Airport at 3:05PM on Nov. 22!
The funny thing is that it is already Nov. 21 in Japan so we will be traveling back in time! It will be an interesting flight to say the least!
Helayna has her own My Little Ponies backpack filled with snacks, books, crayons, coloring books, stickers and some small ponies to play with. I understand that there are also television screens with headphones on the back of all the seats, so I am hoping between the goodies in her backpack and the TV, she will stay occupied and won't throw a fit. I'm keeping my fingers crossed!
Silas has caught my cold and he is a little congested, so I am somewhat concerned about him getting an ear infection or his cold getting worse on the flight. However, I have already spoken with our insurance company and they assured me that the kids could be seen at any time even if we aren't enrolled in Tricare Pacific yet. I am taking Vick's vapor rub and baby tylenol for him and hoping it will ease any discomfort he has on the flight and he will sleep.
Helayna seems to understand that we are going to see Andrew. She's been asking "Daddy?" whenever I put my shoes on to run errands this week. I know she and I are both excited to see him, and I'm sure Silas would be too if he were old enough to understand what was going on.
Well I am about to go to bed and try to get some rest before our big journey tomorrow!
I will posting pictures and updates after I arrive in Japan, so keep on the lookout. I figured this would be easier than trying to send a ton of pictures to a ton of people. However, I will try to at least email everyone tomorrow and let you know that we made it to Japan safely. :)

Wow, I am so excited for you! The flight to Japan is seriously long, so good luck on the trip. The good news is when you land, you are there!
Thank you for thinking of making a blog, posting photos and letting all the rest of us share in your adventure.
Japan is a fascinating and wonderful country. You will never fit in, but you will always be welcome. I know that does not make sense, but it will!
God bless you three as you undertake this adventure! We look forward to following your journey and reuniting with Andrew/Daddy. Thank you for taking the time to create the blog so that we can keep in touch. Love, Alicia and Ron

Looks like the flight is delayed getting out of Ohare, now scheduled to leave at 11:15AM CST.
For those of you curious, they are on JAL flight 9 from ORD to Narita, which is a nice big 747.
In spite of the delay the FAA is showing that their flight plan should get them in a few minutes early due to favorable winds.
As of 11:30 central they are now underway, just having left Ohare.
